About the Role:

Confluent is looking for a Benefits Specialist to join our global Total Rewards team to focus on building out our benefits programs in North America. Reporting to the US Benefits Program Manager, you will support administration of all benefits throughout the region, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, spending accounts, retirement savings and time away benefits, as well as Workers’ Compensation. You’ll support vendor management and execution of benefits and contribute to strategy discussions as we look to scale our benefits programs for continued growth.

What You Will Do:

  • Support day-to-day administration of AMER (currently US and Canada) benefits programs working alongside benefits manager to perform audits and managing escalated employee inquiries
  • Partner with external vendors, measure their performance and look for opportunities to improve overall vendor effectiveness
  • Support Time Away (vacation and leave) benefits across US and Canada
  • Support annual benefit renewals, vendor changes and new program implementations, working closely with external vendors, people operations and payroll teams
  • Support US Open Enrollment planning and execution including event coordination, system updates, audits and employee follow ups
  • Draft and review employee and candidate facing benefits communications
  • Support escalated employee benefits and time away questions in partnership with the people operations team, brokers and insurers
  • Proactively identify gaps in processes and make recommendations for improvements
  • Contribute to the development and execution of Confluent’s global wellbeing strategy, including supporting events

What You Will Bring:

  • 2+ years of experience in administering a range of benefits programs
  • Some experience with insurance, leave and retirement savings plans
  • A growth mindset, enabling you to learn unfamiliar benefits and plans quickly, supported by the AMER Benefits Manager and external vendors
  • Staying organized through project and vendor management tools, with a focus on employee experience and change management
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters, maintaining privacy and confidentiality
  • Drive to continuously improve and look for opportunities to simplify processes to achieve operational efficiency and optimize the employee experience
  • Attention to detail together with strong problem solving and follow through in projects that involve multiple steps and stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively as a key member of a larger team, building relationships with internal (people business partners, people operations, HRIS, payroll, etc.) and external (brokers, insurers etc.) stakeholders

What Gives You an Edge:

  • Knowledge of Workday HRIS
  • Experience working with an external benefits administration platform
  • Comfort with Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides) applications
  • Experience with Workers’ compensation and leave management
  • High-growth tech public company exposure in a multinational context
