About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity at a very exciting time - you will be front and center in designing and co-creating Confluent’s Employer Value Proposition as a destination company for Remote-First work culture and environment.

In this new role, you will lead Confluent’s strategy and implementation of Employee Enablement (Onboarding, Manager Training), Talent Retention (Succession and talent planning, Engagement, Career Development, Performance Management), Organization Development (Org Structures, Leadership Development,) and DEI (including support of the company’s ESG goals).  This role works closely with Global People Business Partners and the executive team of Confluent to ensure the right programs are in place and aligned with our Business Strategy and Company Values.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage and lead a team of professionals and will be accountable for both strategy and execution that will support our immediate high growth and also our scaling requirements.
  • Develop goals and analyze metrics to assess the qualitative and quantitative efficacy of Talent Retention, Leadership Development, Employee Enablement and DEI strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of a compelling employer brand, hiring practices, and employee enablement to attract, develop and retain diverse talent while fostering a sense of belonging.
  • Drive effective programs to support our employee’s success, including onboarding and manager training. 
  • Establish strategies for Talent Retention, including opportunities to engage our employees, and provide compelling career frameworks and performance management systems. 
  • Collaborate with People Business Partners and executives to build out executive leadership offerings, such as coaching, external speakers, and off-site sessions.
  • Partner with leaders to author and communicate Confluent’s Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion philosophy in a manner that inspires us to further foster a diverse and inclusive environment.

What You Will Bring:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, with at least 4 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrative experience articulating a strategic vision, translating this vision into an executable strategy, and driving cross-functional global teams to deliver results.
  • Experience successfully establishing DEI and L&D/OD program(s) within a high-growth company.
  • Ability to translate data and analytics in order to develop insights, drive decisions, and measure impact.
  • Strong problem-solving, program management, organizational, interpersonal, and listening skills.
  • Ability to successfully interact, influence, and collaborate with all employees across all levels.
