About the Role:
In this role, the EMEA Site Lead will be responsible for building out a new engineering site from inception. The role will be responsible for building out the initial team, setting a hiring and recruiting strategy, developing local infrastructure, and working closely with partners in HR, Finance, Legal and others to make sure the site can be successful long-term. The leader in this role will be responsible and accountable for the success of engineering teams in the site including, but not limited to, delivery on key engineering initiatives, enabling career growth and development opportunities for all individuals in the site, and working closely with global peers to enable success across teams.
Though the role is set for Poland, we are open to leaders in nearby locations.
What You'll Do:
- Lead, inspire, and hire across Engineering teams in EMEA
- Collaborate with the Executive Team, Product Management, and global engineering teams to come up with technology strategy and deliver highly available, fault-tolerant services and a SaaS platform
- Work in multi-functional agile teams to regularly experiment, iterate, and deliver on new product objectives with end-to-end responsibility for your team's goals
- Be completely engaged and lead technology strategy, implementation, development life cycle and delivery of the product suite
- Create and nurture a culture of technical excellence and innovation
What We're Looking For:
- 10+ years of commercial enterprise product and cloud services development experience
- Effective leadership, influencing, mentoring skills and ability to inspire team members
- Demonstrated ability to come up with technology strategy with extensive leadership experience in leading and managing large geographically distributed engineering teams
- Experience in leading development of cloud services with microservice-based architectures hosted in leading cloud environments (AWS, Azure or GCP)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
What Gives You an Edge:
- Previous experience leading an overall site working with teams across AMER, APAC, and EMEA
- Previous experience opening up a remote office including developing the overall strategy, identifying the hiring and recruiting strategy, and adjusting overall approach to meet local needs and customs
