About the team  
Given our aspiration to make event streaming (‘data in motion’) the central nervous system of the modern digital business, a robust cloud partner ecosystem is not only essential to our success but represents an x-factor opportunity as we create this new event-streaming category. 
Confluent is looking for an experienced leader to join our Global Partner Program Team within the Global Partner Ecosystem and Business Development Team. This person will be instrumental in the growth and transformation of the Confluent Partner Program. The Confluent Partner Program team is responsible for the recruitment, onboarding, and programmatic management of our partners globally. These partners range from hyper-scale cloud providers to ISVs to Systems Integrators (global and regional/boutique).

About the role
Our ideal candidate will have experience in managing global, sophisticated, and highly dynamic partner programs for fast-growing software companies. Extra credit for experience in data infrastructure/data modernization/cloud-based SaaS companies. This person must have experience in managing and driving influencing partner participation, engagement, and growth by customizing and executing program benefits and incentives based on desired outcomes. In this role, the ability to work cross-functionally is critical to ensure operational success and ease of doing business, internally and with partners. Our strategy and execution is data-driven, so this individual will be comfortable with developing data-led strategies while also incorporating qualitative partner feedback and internal feedback to optimize the Confluent Partner Program.

What you will do:

  • 10+ years of industry or consulting experience in channel, partner management, program management, or go-to-market strategy roles. Prior experience with a fast growth, cloud-based enterprise software company is highly preferred.
  • Set and socialize the strategic vision for the expansion and transformation of the Confluent Partner Program.
  • Establish key requirements/objectives and collaborate with internal business stakeholders to define/build both global/regional partner programs that drive differentiated benefits and requirements aligned to the partners’ core competencies and business models
  • Identify and recruit the next generation of partners to accelerate and scale the partner business while ensuring that high partner satisfaction is maintained
  • Collaborate with developers and external teams to improve the tools and processes for the acquisition and onboarding of new partners.
  • Design and implement enhancements to improve partner experience through the PRM platform
  • Be the subject matter expert and liaison with Partner Enablement and Partner Marketing to develop internal content that meets audience and program requirements in creative and engaging ways
  • Maintain and support the program infrastructure, including partner portal, SFDC, partner benefits, and programs (MDF, Partner Training, etc.).  Experience with improving the partner deal registration process is a plus.
  • Track key performance metrics for the Partner Program as well as individual partners
  • Accurately document business processes and continuously improve partner assets and the partner experience
  • Represent the Partner Program team in operational/business projects supporting our partners
  • Manage a team of external agencies and contractors who support Confluent’s program infrastructure. 

What you will bring:

  • Requires a bachelor’s/MBA degree or equivalent plus 10+ years of related experience in a cloud-based SaaS company working with partners (CSPs, ISVs, GSIs/RSIs,VARs, Distributors, Service Providers) across multiple geographies
  • Strong experience in partner program management, day-to-day partner operations, and project management.
  • Ability to see through transformative projects from the big picture to the operational detail of execution
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision
  • Ability to collaborate as part of a cross-functional team and also work independently
  • Demonstrated cross-functional communication and relationship building skills with Senior Leadership and C-Level
  • Self-motivated, innovative, and can lead or roll up the sleeves to get the job done
