About the Role
Confluent seeks an experienced and self-motivated Sr. Finance Manager to establish and lead our FP&A Shared Services team in Bangalore. In this role, you will build out a critical new function from the ground up and be responsible for hiring and managing a team of Financial Analysts that will partner closely with US FP&A functional leads to deliver critical daily/weekly reporting, BvA analysis, month-end close activities, and much more!  You will also work directly with our VP of India Engineering to provide business partnering support for the high-growth India Engineering organization.
The ideal candidate has at least 8+ years of progressive experience in FP&A and prior experience building a team from the ground up.  Previous experience both as a people manager and working at a US-headquartered tech company are hard requirements.   This role reports to Confluent’s Sr. Director of R&D Finance and has a huge opportunity to add a ton of value at one of the fastest-growing software companies!

What you’ll do 

Oversee and manage the India FP&A team partnering across multiple Finance functions including Corporate, GTM, G&A, and R&D
Support and serve as a trusted finance business partner for the India VP of Engineering and his management team
Identify talent needs and lead the hiring, people development, and performance management for a team of India Financial Analysts to be located in Bangalore
Partner with US FP&A Leaders to define and evolve the India Finance operating model over time
Work closely with FP&A stakeholders to perform month-end close activities and help identify process improvements and efficiencies in the close process
Be accountable for the India FP&A team’s governance framework, defining and adhering to internal and external SLAs, KPIs, and operating efficiency metrics
Serve as an escalation point for HQ teams to provide resolution to any critical issues across the day-to-day operations
Ensure timely and accurate reporting and analytics are provided 

What we’re looking for

Bachelor’s degree required in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a Chartered Accountant/CPA(US)
10+ years of progress Corporate Finance experience with at least 3 years as a people manager is required
Experience working at a high-growth tech company with HQ in the US
Prior experience working in an effective Shared Services/offshoring model is strongly preferred
Strong organizational, change management and execution skills, along with the ability to prioritize and drive multiple tasks simultaneously
Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills are required for frequent interaction with US-based management
Proven track record of hiring and developing staff while meeting department objectives in a fast-paced environment
Have strong organizational skills and a willingness to roll up their sleeves when needed
