About the role:

We are looking for an individual to lead our financial services industry GTM motion in the AMER region. A strong industry-specific GTM motion is critical to our success in the Strategic Accounts segment first and foremost, and the benefits will also trickle down into other segments.
This senior-level role requires a thoughtful point of view for the future of financial services and Confluent’s unique value and use cases for those industries, as well as the longer-term ability to develop and drive industry-specific solutions into the market. The ability to work programmatically and at scale across a global community of account teams, fostering relationships with senior executives within customer and partner organizations, partnering effectively cross-functionally, and directly engaging with our account teams on strategic opportunities are also core requirements. 

We are looking for a proven track record in the following three key attributes: 

1) Industry Experience: A financial industry expert who is deeply knowledgable in these industries. The role requires 15+ years of working in / selling into organizations, as either a subject matter expert or Digital / IT Transformation Expert. 

2) Bring Teams Together: A demonstrated ability to grow industry segments, develop, own and drive the solution development plan / solution revenue targets, while deeply engaging with Sales, SE, CSG, Product, PMM, Partner Ecosystem and other cross-functional teams. Create and roll out internal and external content, such as industry positioning, solutions, and customer successes, to support overall growth. Bring a community of accounts teams together to drive focus on priority industries. This individual will have the ability to think and act both at very strategic and at very tactical levels. They will have a proven track record working as a collaborator in a highly matrixed organization in which team members are dependent on teammates and organizations with whom they partner and facilitate, but do not exercise direct control. 

3) Industry Solution Leadership: A proven ability to introduce and develop strategic industry solutions. Understand industry challenges, systems landscapes, positioning, use cases, areas of opportunity, and sales tactics. 

What you will do:

  • Lead by influence; being “the glue” to bring together a matrix team to solve industry and customer challenges
  • Target top accounts, inspect, lead and provide close engagement with the field
  • Support the development of messaging, positioning, and industry-specific points of view for customers
  • Own the development of industry-specific solutions and content, for customer positioning, field enablement, and campaigns as needed to deliver industry goals
  • Take personal responsibility for supporting the growth of solution pipeline and revenue; own then umber
  • Work collaboratively with virtual cross functional teams including Corporate Marketing, PMM,Product, Sales, Sales Enablement, Field Marketing, CSG and Partner Ecosystem to develop and execute the strategic GTM plan for financial services in the AMER region.
  • Present to large customer audiences as well as command the attention of C-level executives; earn their trust through expertise and relevance

What you will bring:

  • 15+ years of experience working in industry focused roles, with knowledge/experience in digital transformation
  • Demonstrated ability in launching and growing innovative products and solutions
  • Experience crafting compelling positioning and thought leadership content
  • Superior track record of collaboration and being a trusted advisor to the sales organization to win strategic deals
  • Strong communication and writing skills; stellar public speaking skills
  • Effective organizational skills and ability to manage competing projects with tight deadlines
  • Bachelor's degree. MBA or related Master's degree a plus
