About The Role
We are looking for an organized and creative videographer to work with our creative team to plan, film, and edit video content according to project  briefs. The videographer's responsibilities include ensuring that the necessary filming equipment is available for use, directing other camera operators on set, and editing film footage. To be successful as a videographer you must be able to understand client briefs and work creatively to produce the desired product. A good videographer should stay up to date with industry trends and tools that will make projects more marketable.

As a Videographer-Editor at Confluent, you are creative, self-motivated, organized, collaborative, and able to juggle multiple active projects in collaboration with stakeholders across teams. You are comfortable wearing multiple hands-on hats, and able to assist with both live and produced video production. You have intermediate knowledge and skills in video editing, the production process for studio and locations shoots, and (ideally) experience with live switching.  You have experience vetting, onboarding, and managing video contractors.

What You Will Do:

  • Assist with all aspects of video production, including development, shoot planning, filming, lighting, and sound - locally in the Bay Area and on location
  • Setting up and tearing down cameras, audio recorders, lighting, microphones, and props
  • Preparing background film or “B” rolls as well as live feed
  • Editing RAW video footage to create a storyInserting closed captioning, graphics, or other on-screen text into a video
  • Experience assistant editing, and full editing of, video content in Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Experience helping manage video distribution and schedule across YouTube, Vimeo, Frame.io, Vidyard, media servers, owned and operated sites
  • Experience helping manage content schedules, communications and expectations with various internal teams
  • Support the Video team’s Project Manager by maintaining projects in the Asana project management software ensure timelines and tasks are up to date
  • An unremittingly positive attitude

What You Will Bring:

  • 5-7  years experience in filming videos on set or on location
  • Knowledge / preference of video cameras and lenses
  • Superior problem-solving skills and high attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to receive and delegate direction, with a service orientation, and maintain a strong sense of organization

  • A track record of helping produce compelling, informative, and inspiring video content that resonates with technical audiences
  • Experience assisting with producing live events with Blackmagic ATEM switchers
  • Own and operate your own camera gear kit (Black Magic gea a plus)
  • Experience working in technology companies
