About the Role
The Senior Director, Assistant Controller will be a key member of Confluent’s Accounting leadership team and will lead a global team of approximately 30 employees. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Corporate Controller, the Assistant Controller will be responsible for leading the global accounting close process, establishing the strategic vision, and leading the execution of scaling our people, processes, and systems. You will own and lead the Corporate Accounting (consisting of general ledger and consolidations), International Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Shared Services functions.
The ideal candidate is a strong people leader, a self-starter, a problem solver, and is comfortable in challenging the status quo in order to improve and scale the function. This individual should be experienced in overseeing the end-to-end accounting close, management reporting, managing external audits, SOX compliance, and mentoring/developing a high-performing team. You should also have experience partnering with multiple stakeholders and functional leaders to drive cross-functional, enterprise-wide initiatives while ensuring strong financial reporting governance and compliance.
The ideal candidate is an experienced CPA with at least 12 years of progressively responsible experience between public accounting firms and publicly traded, high-tech organizations with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
