We are looking for a motivated and talented junior security engineer to join our infrastructure security team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about learning and developing their skills in threat detection, response, and security monitoring. You will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced security engineers, IT administrators, and compliance analysts to help keep our infrastructure secure and free from malicious actors and threats. Responsibilities
- Assist in building and setting up pipelines to gather relevant security telemetry.
- Support the maintenance of security monitoring infrastructure solutions.
- Help develop detection strategies to identify anomalous activity and ensure a secure operating environment.
- Participate in triaging security alerts and responding to incidents under the guidance of senior team members.
- Learn about new threat attack vectors and contribute to improving detection and response capabilities.
- Work with engineering teams to improve the quality of detection rules and address security issues.
- Contribute to various security projects and initiatives under the mentorship of experienced security engineers.
What We're Looking For
- 1+ years of relevant industry experience or a degree in computer science, information security, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of incident response and containment practices, preferably in a cloud-first environment.
- Familiarity with scripting or coding in an interpreted language.
- Exposure to security telemetry solutions and logging tools.
- Willingness to learn and work with open-source and/or commercial solutions for logging and security event management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with distributed teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.
- Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure and infrastructure as code solutions is a plus
