About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced security engineer to join our cloud security team, and lead efforts in upleveling Confluent’s cloud security maturity. In this role, you will have a unique opportunity to leverage your cloud security and software engineering experience to build some of the foundational systems and controls to keep our infrastructure secure and free from vulnerabilities. Tooling and automation will be key to success as we scale our environments to meet customer demand. You will work closely with peers in the wider Trust & Security organization, and partner closely with engineers across the company.

What You Will Do:

What You Will Bring:

• 4+ years of relevant industry experience in an infrastructure security or security engineering team
  
• Coding proficiency in Python or Go is preferred
  
• Demonstrated experience building internal services and tools for vulnerability scanning and vulnerability management lifecycle in cloud environments
  
• Demonstrated experience in designing and building solutions to uplevel the security posture of multi-account and multi-region cloud environments
  
• Experience with infrastructure management using infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation etc)
  
• Familiarity with more than one cloud vendor (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus
  
• Ability to work autonomously alongside a remote team, using a data-driven mindset to propose, get alignment on, and own engineering decisions
• This is a remote-first role open to all locations like Florida, Texas, Illinois, Utah etc within US and Canada

We analyze and carefully consider several factors when determining compensation, including work history, education, professional experience, and location.  This position has an annual estimated salary of 155,100 - 178,400 USD, an annual bonus, and a competitive equity package.
