About the Role 

We’re looking for a strong technologist who will support and grow the technical relationship with our Cloud Providers (Google, Amazon, Microsoft). You will collaborate across product, engineering, and field teams to build joint enterprise streaming solutions that highlight Confluent’s unique features.

Successful Cloud Partner Solutions Engineers typically have backgrounds as developers, solution architects, technical account managers, or product specialists, but they all share a passion for expanding Confluent’s partner ecosystem and delivering the best of that world to our customers.

What You Will Do:

  • Build and manage relationships with key technical leaders at the Cloud Partner, own the technical strategy for scaling the partnership with Cloud Partners to the next level
  • Own the technical relationships with the Cloud Partner and maintain the good health of the partnership
  • Facilitate and build roadmap transparency between Confluent and the Cloud Partner. 
  • Provide architecture guidance and recommendations across solutions, offerings and customer opportunities
  • Work with Cloud Partner to build differentiated solutions and offerings that include Confluent Technology
  • Educate and enable Cloud Partner architects on Kafka, Confluent and Data in Motion architectures
  • Aid in the education and enablement of Confluent architects on joint solutions with Cloud Partners
  • Author whitepapers, technical articles and blog posts
  • Understanding of positioning of competing products and capabilities within the Cloud Partner
  • Work with the Cloud Partner to find new integration opportunities between the partner and Confluent and prioritize them according to Confluent and Partner strategy
  • Aiding on the execution of such integrations.
  • Carrying new integration opportunities within the CSPs.

What You Will Bring:

  • Deep knowledge of Cloud Partner strategy, products, organizational and operating models
  • Demonstrated experience architecting enterprise solutions for customers and/or partners on Cloud Partner
  • Experience serving as Technical Sales/Systems Engineer in a cloud environment or equivalent experience in a customer and/or partner-facing role.
  • Experience designing and building big data, stream processing, and/or other distributed systems for Fortune 1000 companies
  • Experience with messaging, streaming and ETL products commonly used in the enterprise
  • Experience authoring, presenting and delivering technical material
  • Experience operating within and across cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, sales, marketing, etc
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill, with focus on identifying shared business value around complex software solutions
  • Ability to quickly learn, understand and work with new and emerging technologies, methodologies and solutions

At Confluent, we are committed to providing competitive pay and benefits that are in line with industry standards. We analyze and carefully consider several factors when determining compensation, including work history, education, professional experience, and location.  This position has an annual estimated salary of $174,000 - $200,000, an annual bonus, and a competitive equity package. The actual pay may vary depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Confluent offers a wide range of employee benefits.
