About the Role:
Confluent is seeking a highly motivated Manager of Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting who embraces and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role will be the technical accounting subject matter expert, build and maintain the Company’s accounting policies, and address technical accounting issues arising from business transactions or the implementation of new accounting pronouncements. In addition, this role will support SEC reporting and help scale the financial reporting process at Confluent.

Due to the high growth nature of the Company, the candidate must be detail-oriented, maintain an inquisitive mindset, and have the ability to operate effectively and independently in a dynamic environment to help drive Confluent’s continued growth.

The ideal candidate is an experienced CPA with 5+ years of total progressively responsible experience with a combination of Big 4 and public company experience. This position will report to the Director of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Establish, develop, and maintain Confluent’s accounting policies
  • Assess the accounting and disclosure impacts of accounting issues and draft technical memos to support conclusions reached
  • Be a trusted business partner and advisor to various stakeholders within Accounting, Finance, Legal, and other cross-functional teams regarding policy interpretation and application
  • Be a proactive liaison with external auditors to drive timely alignment on accounting and reporting matters
  • Monitor, interpret, and implement new accounting standards, including assessing the impact on Confluent’s financial statements and accounting policies, and working with various cross-functional stakeholders
  • Conduct U.S. GAAP and accounting policy and process training sessions
  • Support SEC reporting process, including drafting financial statements and related disclosures
  • Ensure the internal controls related to technical accounting and financial reporting are designed, implemented and operating effectively for SOX compliance 

 

What You Will Bring:

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA with 5+ years of progressively responsible experience
  • Combination of Big 4 and public company financial reporting experience
  • Analytical, organized, and self-motivated
  • Excellent knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including ability to research accounting literature, establish a position, and develop procedures for implementation
  • Strong interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of at the company
  • Donnelley Financial Solutions experience a plus
  • Enterprise software and/or SaaS industry experience a plus

At Confluent, we are committed to providing competitive pay and benefits that are in line with industry standards. We analyze and carefully consider several factors when determining compensation, including work history, education, professional experience, and location.  This position has an annual estimated salary of $121,320 - $139,500, an annual bonus, and a competitive equity package. The actual pay may vary depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Confluent offers a wide range of employee benefits.
