About the Role:

The Head of GRC & and Security TPM will implement the vision and execute against the strategy of the Trust and Security Organization.  An excellent candidate will fully understand the intention and future direction of the organization and motivate cross functional teams to plan for the future, coordinate and measure tactical progress across the enterprise, and provide necessary corrective guidance.

A leader in this role directs the efforts of the trust and security program management team as well as our governance, risk, and compliance program providing guidance, coaching, planning, and direction to existing teams of professionals. 

 

What You Will Do:

Confluent is looking for a strong leader who thoroughly understands program management, security executive functions, governance, risk, and compliance.  In this role, you should:

  • Lead global teams of professionals providing direction, decision making, delegation of responsibilities and support of team and executive decisions

  • Partner with sales, legal, engineering, IT, business systems, and other departments to drive security and compliance initiatives

  • Provide clear, concise metrics, analytics, and reporting of risk posture to executive stakeholders

  • Monitor programs and progress against commitments and keep initiatives on track for timely completion

  • Demonstrate strategic impact by developing teams, tools, and methods to transform the operation and effectiveness of our organization

  • Set strategy and objectives, drive organizational change, and solve problems holistically independent of organizational boundaries. Be an authority in the trust and security domain

  • Demonstrate thought leadership, vision, and a deep understanding of Confluent’s technologies, business goals, and the industry; develop strategic alliances, have a sphere of influence to execute multiple complex programs, and create market opportunities where possible

  • Nurture the trust and security community, help grow the talent pipeline, and drive Confluent-wide citizenship efforts.  Coach and mentor members of our community to grow in improve in their careers

What You Will Bring:
  • BA/BS degree required. 
  • Proven track record and experience in leading teams and managing technical projects in a software engineering domain.
  • Proven ability to run and deliver results on large-scale, complex technical projects and GRC programs across distributed sites under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels of management.
  • Ability to effectively operate with flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving team environment.
  • Exceptional people management and organizational development skills.

 

What Gives You an Edge:

An exceptional candidate with a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience; or equivalent experience.

At Confluent, we are committed to providing competitive pay and benefits that are in line with industry standards. We analyze and carefully consider several factors when determining compensation, including work history, education, professional experience, and location.  This position has an annual estimated salary of $211,700 - $248,800, an annual bonus, and a competitive equity package. The actual pay may vary depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Confluent offers a wide range of employee benefits.
