With Confluent, organizations can harness the full power of continuously flowing data to innovate and win in the modern digital world. We have a purpose that drives us to do better every day – we're creating an entirely new category within data infrastructure - data streaming. This technology will allow every organization to create experiences and use the power of data in ways that profoundly impact the way we all live. This impact is our purpose and drives us to do better every day.

One Confluent. One team. One Data Streaming Platform.

Data Connects Us.

About the Role:

With more data being produced in real time by many systems and devices than ever before, it is critical to be able to process it in real time and get actionable insights while the data is still relevant. The Stream Processing and Analytics team at Confluent aims at making stream processing easier to use and help our customers to get valuable insights from their data in motion as well as helping customers to run queries over large historical data for efficient reprocessing, ad-hoc queries or other analytics workloads.

We are looking for a seasoned Product Manager for stream processing, focusing on SQL and Analytics, and helping to define a long-range, strategic roadmap for this area, maintain a tight feedback loop with our customers, and work closely with our engineering team.

What You Will Do:

  • Drive the development and enhancements of SQL Analytics and batch processing roadmap.
  • Drive the unification of stream processing and analytics: Work with customers and internal stakeholders to align our efforts related to processing of data coming from Apache Kafka, Apache Iceberg to provide the best experience and performance for our customers.
  • Work across teams: Create shared understanding and direction across engineering, product, business development, support, sales, and marketing teams within Confluent and externally with our partners.

What You Will Bring:

  • Execute Analytics Roadmap with a focus on helping take innovative new products to market.
  • Developing product and technical specifications for this area
  • Working closely with customers to help gather feedback, requirements, share our vision and roadmap, and deeply understand their user journeys.
  • Educating Confluent’s field and the broader community about new features.
  • Be responsible for the whole lifecycle: Drive multi-company, cross-functional initiatives from conception through initial delivery, and ongoing iteration after launch.
  • Close the loop: Define quantitative and qualitative targets, measure performance against them, share results with stakeholders, and incorporate those learnings into the next development cycle.
  • Manage complexity: Deliver value while handling the surprises and challenges of a quickly evolving product, ambitious partnership targets, and a rapidly growing organization.
  • Develop a strategic vision of where to invest our effort to help our customers succeed.
  • Think through a great end-to-end product experience with a focus on detailed user stories.
  • Create a roadmap to deliver that experience to customers.

What Gives You an Edge:

  • 4 + years of software, or technical product management experience
  • Experience working on enhancing operational data systems, data warehouses, datalakes, or lakehouses.
  • Experience with SQL language
  • Experience with batch processing or data processing at scale
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to understand and learn new technical concepts quickly.
  • Understanding of Cloud Infrastructure and services.
  • Knowledge of Flink or other streaming processing technologies preferred but not required.
