About the Role:

The Product Strategy team is focused on the development and execution of Confluent’s long-term technology roadmap, product investment decisions, and market strategy. We help our technical and business leadership teams make critical decisions by providing detailed market intelligence, building long-term projections, performing investment evaluations, and assessing competitive dynamics. This involves being a trusted thought leader to Confluent’s most senior executives and decision makers.

The Product Strategy Manager will be an experienced professional with a demonstrated track record of success in the enterprise software space, and will report into the Head of Product Strategy. This role will work directly with top product leaders, and will be responsible for high impact strategic projects and mission-critical initiatives. The successful candidate will be expected to act as a leader that influences cross-functional teams while defining and evolving all aspects of our product strategy. This professional will also drive thought leadership around the Apache Kafka and real-time data ecosystems, including building relationships with key market participants such as research analysts and peer strategy teams.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Provide thought leadership, market intelligence and business analysis to support the construction of Confluent’s long-term product investment strategy
  • Conduct detailed analysis of Confluent product adoptions and trends, partnering with our Analytics and Data Science teams
  • Continuously integrate our product, go-to-market, and overall business strategy into a unified plan with our Sales, Product Marketing, Engineering, and FP&A teams
  • Support development of our open source, developer adoption, and customer acquisition strategies with our Marketing and Developer Relation teams
  • Ensure alignment between key strategic product priorities and company financial plan, and help produce materials and updates for our executive leadership teams
  • Become a trusted advisor to key leaders within the product and engineering organizations, as well as across the broader Confluent organization

 

What You Will Bring:

  • 5+ years of total professional experience
  • 2+ years of experience focused on the enterprise software space - either in a enterprise-focused strategy role at a technology company, or with demonstrated success executing projects in the enterprise software space in a Management Consulting, Investment Banking, Venture Capital, Business Strategy, or Private Equity role
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA or MBA-equivalent role preferred
  • Demonstration of strong quantitative foundations are highly desired - either through coursework or professional experience
  • Strong business foundation and ability to pick up and understand both technology and sales concepts
  • Visible passion for analyzing new information, facilitating strategic decision making, and managing fast-paced projects
  • Distinctive problem-solving, strategic and analytical capabilities
  • Operational and financial modeling experience - Excel proficiency required
  • Strong communications skills required – both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated record of working both independently and with a cross-functional team

 

What Gives You an Edge: 

  • Direct experience working at a technology company with Product Management and Sales functions
  • Intermediate SQL and Tableau skills

At Confluent, we are committed to providing competitive pay and benefits that are in line with industry standards. We analyze and carefully consider several factors when determining compensation, including work history, education, professional experience, and location.  This position has an annual estimated salary of $152,200 - $175,000, an annual bonus, and a competitive equity package. The actual pay may vary depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Confluent offers a wide range of employee benefits.
