About the Team:

Confluent’s PMM team is defined by two areas: driving Confluent’s GTM (go-to-market) and a relentless focus on the Customer.  The PMM team is responsible for driving our GTM (go-to-market) prioritization & strategy, successfully launching new products, and leveraging a holistic understanding of the customer to define and optimize our go-to-market across the entire customer acquisition and adoption lifecycle.

 

About the Role:

Our Product Marketing team’s mission is to generate customer insights that inform Confluent’s product and go-to-market strategy, lead the go-to-market for our product suite, and craft campaigns to drive growth. Product Marketing is a highly cross-functional role at Confluent, partnering closely with Product and Engineering, Sales, Design, Developer Relations, and the various Marketing channel owners to name a few. Unique from many other Product Marketing teams, our team works across the entire product lifecycle, from helping shape the product roadmap, to driving launches and commercialization, to ensuring GTM alignment with Sales and growing product adoption post-launch. This also includes creating compelling content for both external marketing campaigns, as well as internally to help our sales team demonstrate Confluent’s value proposition to prospective customers.

Confluent is looking for a candidate with a blend of product, strategy, analytics, and marketing/GTM skills. This role will be responsible for high impact strategic projects and mission-critical initiatives, taking a product and customer-oriented lens to help accelerate our growth. As a candidate for this role, you will have a proven track record of product marketing and/or GTM strategy development in high-tech companies, specifically those with B2B and SaaS/Cloud business models. 

The responsibilities of this role include building go-to-market & campaign strategies that will drive acquisition and adoption across the entire customer lifecycle, and driving cross-functional initiatives with broad organizational impact and strategic implications. This role will be involved in crafting the strategy, defining the end-to-end funnel to unlock and accelerate growth, and building key marketing moments to drive demand gen. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader with the drive, initiative, and leadership qualities that influence cross-functional teams.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Build a go-to-market strategy and execute innovative marketing campaigns that help position the value of Confluent’s products to technical practitioners (e.g., developers and architects)
  • Create crisp and compelling messaging, assets, enablement, and more for both external consumption and internal use by Confluent’s marketing and sales teams
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with demand generation, content marketing, sales, product management, and other teams to build alignment around go-to-market plans
  • Produce creative campaigns and moments, partnering with technical PMs and developer advocates, that capture the hearts and minds of our technical practitioners and convince them to try our suite of products
  • Collaborate with our various channel teams to communicate a cohesive and clear message for our technical practitioners, whether they’re browsing our website or getting a product demo
  • Define and execute product launches and GTM strategy to complement our product roadmap and align to customer preferences & buying motions across target segments
  • Assess effectiveness of current GTM strategies and refine as necessary, leveraging analytics and benchmarking for data-driven prioritization of product/GTM gaps and collaborating with Sales & Product to optimize our sales motions and accelerate growth

 

What You Will Bring:

  • 3+ years of experience in enterprise software (subscription and/or SaaS/Cloud) GTM; top-tier Product Marketing/Management or Management/Strategy Consulting experience highly preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Computer Science / Engineering / technical undergrad degree highly preferred 
  • Strong technical foundation and ability to pick up and understand product/tech concepts (e.g., engineering degree and/or product/engineering experience)
  • Distinctive problem-solving, strategic, and analytical capabilities (Excel required, SQL/R nice-to-have)
  • Ability to navigate a complex business environment and succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic, hyper growth environment with track record of building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Strong communications skills required – both verbal and written, with experience writing for technical audiences
  • Demonstrated record of working both independently and with a team to own cross-functional initiatives and exceed performance expectations & metrics

At Confluent, we are committed to providing competitive pay and benefits that are in line with industry standards. We analyze and carefully consider several factors when determining compensation, including work history, education, professional experience, and location.  This position has an annual estimated salary of $116,800 - $134,300, an annual bonus, and a competitive equity package. The actual pay may vary depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Confluent offers a wide range of employee benefits.
