About the Role:

We are looking for a Sr. Specialist, HR Compliance to join our People Team in EMEA! This is a newly created role reporting to the Sr Manager, International People Operations. The ideal candidate will have expertise in several relevant areas of HR and be excited about jumping in, rolling up their sleeves, and adding immediate value to an integral team at a fast-growing tech company!

Whilst the role will be based in EMEA you will need to have a global mindset and be able to understand specific differences and requirements at a country level across the EMEA and APAC regions. You will partner with various teams to identify our compliance requirements and potential gaps, lending your own expertise to identify, inform a compliance roadmap,  and partner with stakeholders to design and launch compliant business processes and system updates.

This role will be based in Spain and work in a team environment to support and drive our compliance efforts in EMEA and APAC against a constantly and rapidly evolving external compliance environment and within Confluent. 
  

What You Will Do:

  • Partner internally with Legal, Employee Relations, and other teams to understand compliance requirements for each country and  assess gaps 
  • Work with manager to align on priorities for the yearly compliance roadmap 
  • Assess processes to operate in compliance in a given country; including new entities and existing countries 
  • Investigate urgent issues with regards to country compliance requirements and ensure compliance, which may require management of government filings and in some cases communication of policy/process changes, gathering of required documents from employees, and drafting of policy/ policy changes.  
  • Work with in-region management for escalations and project resourcing as needed 
  • Support process excellence related to key ER deliverables (i.e. terminations, leave & accommodation management, worker’s comp, performance improvement processes, investigations, disciplinary processes) 

What You Will Bring:

  • Experience building compliance programs across a broad set of countries; must have genera EMEA, US experience , APAC preferred 
  • Ability to operate independently within ambiguous environment to identify and move forward priorities 
  • Excellent ability to think critically and solve problems independently 
  • Ability to work with all levels of stakeholders; senior leadership, inside and outside legal, process owners and executors, etc. 
  • Comfortable working in a face paced environment and delivering on simultaneous multiple priorities 
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build strong cross functional relationship
