About the Role:
Apache Kafka and Confluent are powering the transformation to real-time business across various industries, which has a profound impact on traditional business. This market shift offers a significant opportunity for Partners to build practices and solutions based on the Confluent Platform, On-Premise and in the Cloud, that leverages their regional, industry, and technology integration assets. We are seeing a significant increase in the partner ecosystem's interest in APAC to work with Confluent.


We are looking for an Inside Partner Development Manager to manage regional system integrators across APAC (excluding GSI and managed RSI) and lead our overall partner ecosystem engagement with these in APAC while you are based in India. This candidate is expected to be an inside sales expert and be aware of the inside sales engagement model with partners. You will manage operational aspects, enablement and pipeline management with partners across APAC and work with the Confluent and partner sales field bridging the gap between them.

As momentum for Kafka and Confluent Platform/Cloud increases across APAC, it is our intent to move long tail partners towards a higher level of engagement with Confluent, through improved technical, solution and sales skills. You will eventually grow them to become a strategic partner for Confluent.

What You Will Do:

  • Partner onboarding: You will facilitate a smooth onboarding of new partners into our organization's ecosystem
  • Explore cross-selling and upselling opportunities
  • Collaborate with long tail partners to align business goals and strategies
  • Identify 2-3 key joint mutual objectives with partners
  • Monitor and analyze partner performance against predefined metrics and KPIs
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance partner success
  • Training and Enablement: Develop and deliver training programs to enhance partner product knowledge and sales capabilities across Confluent Cloud/Platform and Connectors in ensuring partners have access to relevant resources and support
  • Deal Registration Management: Capture deal registrations and work through SLA of approval in ensuring smooth collaboration and fair attribution of opportunities
  • Marketing Support: Collaborate with marketing teams to provide partners with marketing materials, campaigns, and co-marketing opportunities, assist in the execution of joint marketing initiatives
  • Operational Support and Communication: Address partners' operational challenges related to order processing, logistics, and other reporting/tracking and approval functions as applicable. You will maintain regular communication through newsletters, forums, and virtual events
  • Foster a sense of community for shared learning

What You Will Bring:

  • You will bring 6+ years of related experience in partner sales, business development, and/or partner development across South East Asia and India. APAC coverage will be an advantage
  • Demonstrated track record of working in inside sales roles addressing Regional SIs (RSI) across APAC
  • Familiarity with CRM, deal registration, and indirect sales model of GTM
  • Demonstrated success in driving GTM and sales/revenue impact, including working with Microsoft, Google, and AWS stakeholders across different level
  • You are a self-starter mindset with a strong sense of urgency and passion for making great things happen
  • Ability to drive cross-functional and global teams to achieve desired outcomes such as influenced bookings, new pipelines, logos, marketing leads, etc
  • You have some experience in negotiating large and complex deals with industry leaders
  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior executives
  • Experience with Open Source, Data, and/or Analytics product
