About the Role:

This isn’t your average Corporate Communications role. Because at Confluent, you’re not just sparking interest and awareness for the business. You’re helping create the data streaming platforms category, a major new data category that has the potential to be equal in size and importance as databases. Your role in category creation will include partnering with our executives and the wider marketing team to develop and execute compelling narratives and storylines that break through with key media publications and influencers. You’ll also play a key role in the media strategy for moments like earnings cycles, M&A, and crisis communications. What You Will Do:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy and plan to advance Confluent’s narrative and promote interest in the data streaming platforms category.
  • Partner with executive leadership and stakeholders to develop key messages, relevant and compelling storylines, and other communications materials that drive an always-on communications program.
  • Lead the media strategy for key moments including financial communications, M&A, and crisis communications.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers.
  • Create and manage the production of high-quality content including press releases, blog posts, social media posts, and other marketing material.
  • Keep a finger on the pulse of industry trends and competitive landscape to identify new opportunities.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in the communications field.
  • Lead strategy, development and execution of global reporting and measurement.

What You Will Bring:

  • 8+ years experience in a communications role with high-growth B2B tech companies, including managing comms programs for publicly traded companies
  • Exceptional communication, writing, and presentation skills
  • Ability to transform complex ideas into simple and understandable communications  
  • Self-motivated with an always learning mindset, your work educates and motivates others
  • Experience in enterprise B2B tech and data management
  • Proactive mindset with a bias for action

At Confluent, we are committed to providing competitive pay and benefits that are in line with industry standards. We analyze and carefully consider several factors when determining compensation, including work history, education, professional experience, and location. This position has an annual estimated salary of $162,500 - $190,980, an annual bonus, and a competitive equity package. The actual pay may vary depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Confluent offers a wide range of employee benefits.
