About the Role:

The finance systems analyst will be part of the Confluent Finance Systems group.  She/He will work closely with the monetization, subscription billing and order to cash team, supporting various system initiatives aligned to Confluent’s Usage Based Billing & Cloud business. As a Subscription Billing Analyst, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our subscription billing system, ensuring accurate and timely billing for our customers.  Understand the Advanced Revenue Management process, setting up Fair Value Price list,  rev rec rule, allocation process, revenue recognition process. In addition to being organized and analytical , He/She will be a great team player and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. You will have the freedom to exercise creativity, and display your problem-solving skills, while contributing to Confluent’s growth

What You Will Do:

  • Manage the end-to-end subscription billing process, including invoice generation, payment processing, and revenue recognition
  • Work with Monetization and Billing Engineering team and ensure cloud consumption billing data is defined adequately and supports the needs of customers and internal business partners
  • Work with revenue team for setting up Fair Value price, rev rec rules and suggest  process improvements on the revenue operations
  • Coordinate with the Finance team to reconcile billing records, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate revenue reporting.
  • Analyst who drives implementation and optimization of the systems and processes for usage based billing and subscription management
  • Perform periodic audits and reviews to maintain data integrity and compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Continuously improve billing processes and systems, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency gains
  • Provide systems support and ensure smooth closure of monthly usage based billing cycle.
  • Ensure procedures, processes and proper change controls are adhered to on all production changes and implementations
  • Evaluate design alternatives and implications on functionality, effort, performance and operations.
  • Work with NPI and cross functional project teams to perform end to end testing across subscription billing and revenue systems

What You Will Bring:

  • Must have 4-5 years of strong experience working with NetSuite or Subscription Billing Platform ( E.g  Salesforce Billing, Zuora or similar applications)
  • 5-6  years experience as systems or administrator primarily supporting  SAAS based Order-to-Cash applications
  • Experience with Advanced Revenue Management and a good understanding of the revenue recognition process
  • Experience with Usage Based Billing (UBB) applications and a strong understanding of billing processes, revenue recognition principles, and subscription business models.
  • Experience working independently in an extremely fast-paced high-growth team environment
  • Experience in creating system documentation including configuration changes, data mapping requirements, functional designs, test cases and deployment plans as needed for the engagement
  • Experience with CPQ and SFDC subscriptions a plus..
  • Must have experience directly working with AR/Billing business users in gathering requirements and developing solutions
  • Must have a good understanding of finance and accounting concepts
  • Exposure to process and project management methodologies, tools and processes
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and responsibilities with competing priorities
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information systems, Accounting or related experience
