About the Role:

This is a 1-Year Technical Rotation Program (full-time) designed for mid to early-career professionals seeking to build a strong foundation in both pre-sales and post-sales functions within a dynamic, client-facing environment, where post-program, you will transition into a role within the Customer Solutions Group (CSG) based on best fit.  This unique program offers two rotations: the first focused on pre-sales, where as a Solutions Engineer, you will collaborate with sales teams to drive Confluent adoption across various customer segments, and the second focused on post-sales, where as a Customer Solutions Consultant, you will ensure the successful implementation, adoption, and ongoing customer success support for our customers. 
Throughout the rotation program, you will be the technical ambassador for our customers, assisting them in maximising the benefits of our platform. You will be the primary contact for technical and product inquiries, collaborating with various Confluent teams to ensure resources are used effectively. You'll gain hands-on experience with Kafka and the Confluent product, working with diverse organizations from start-ups to large enterprises. You will forge strong customer relationships, ensure high delivery standards, and enjoy helping them build advanced streaming data infrastructures.

What You Will Do:

  • Establish yourself as the trusted technical advisor to customers as you drive the adoption & expansion of Confluent features to increase their consumption.
  • Closely partner with Sales to validate opportunities and drive the technical win, owning the positioning Confluent’s technical and business value to a wide variety of customer stakeholders.
  • Provide post-sales technical support for the customer within Confluent, acting as their voice and coordinating between Sales, Product, Services, Support, and Training teams to drive success.
  • Enhance customer success via collaborating with Support Engineers to resolve customer issues, regularly present customer reviews to senior management, and conduct operational analysis to present findings to customer leadership.

What You Will Bring:

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field; or related experience in a technical domain.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure, dynamic start-up environment.
  • Clear, consistent demonstration of self-starter behaviour and a desire to solve challenging technical problems with minimal supervision
  • Exposure to technical sales of distributed systems, infrastructure software like databases, message queues, SaaS, or Big Data Products
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, capable of explaining complex issues and solutions to a highly skilled and experienced audience, including enterprise architects and C-level executives
  • Quick learning ability and a strong interest in new technologies.
  • Project management experience for effective internal stakeholder management, coordinating with various teams to ensure account success.
  • This is a hybrid position with an intent to transition into a remote position upon completion of the rotation program. You will be expected to come in to the office 3 times a week.

What Gives You an Edge:

  • Prior experience working in a technology start-up, with experience in technical sales.
  • Experience in building solutions with Apache Kafka, Hadoop, relational and NoSQL databases, message queues, and related products.
  • Proficiency in Java and distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with Java Virtual Machine (JVM) tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Linux configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting for RedHat and Debian distributions.
  • Fluency in any second language, including but not limited to, English, Italian, French, Hebrew, and German, will be considered.
