About the Role:

The Corporate Solutions Design & Engineering (CSDE) team helps design & deliver solutions that are at the intersection of GTM Operations, Business Systems, Data & IT. The team is both highly functional as well as technical, with a deep understanding of Product, Customer & Business domains. The primary focus of the team is to architect, design, build, and deploy working cross-functionally with other teams for delivery. Additionally, the team leads data governance & architecture for the internal adoption of Confluent’s Data Streaming Platform and associated real-time use cases. 
The Sr. Application Engineer will be part of the Corporate Solutions Design & Engineering team. They will work closely with Data Engineers, Business Analysts, Developers, Administrators, and Project/Program Managers to design and build technical solutions, specifically focused on our Customer Intelligence initiatives.

What You Will Do:

• Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and requirements, as well as identify measurable success criteria
• Build real-time, event-driven applications using Confluent Cloud, Flink, Kafka Streams, custom microservices, and/or other custom tools that solve business objectives and requirements, adhere to architectural and data governance standards
• Contribute to the design of solutions leveraging Confluent’s Data Streaming Platform, including creation of architecture diagrams and technical documentation

What You Will Bring:

• Bachelor or advanced degree in a quantitative discipline: computer science, engineering, statistics, economics, etc.
• Minimum of 9 years of experience in a software engineer and/or data infrastructure role, with a proven track record of building and maintaining data streaming applications.
• Proficiency in backend development languages such as Golang, Java, Python, or Node.js
• Hands-on experience and usage of cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
