About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Operations Specialist to join our People team at Confluent! This is not just a processing role; it's an opportunity to own and enhance the critical HR processes that support our employee lifecycle. The ideal candidate is a natural problem-solver who excels at identifying inefficiencies, managing escalations, and following through to solutions. You will serve as a key point of contact for operational issues of medium complexity and play a vital role in maintaining the integrity and compliance of our HR systems and processes. This position is based in the US and works in a team environment to support Confluent employees and managers across the US, while collaborating with our International People Support & Operations team. This role will report to the Sr. Manager, People Operations.

What You Will Do:

  • Employee Lifecycle & Data Management:

    • Oversee and streamline core HR processes including contractor onboarding/offboarding, internal transfers, and relocation administration.

    • Ensure the accuracy of employee data through regular audits and serve as the primary support for our Intern program extensions and related data management.

    • Manage and approve employee data changes in Workday, ensuring all information is current and accurate.

  • Problem Resolution & Escalation Management:

    • Serve as the first escalation point for HR shared services support tickets, investigating issues and identifying next steps.

    • Oversee daily I-9 compliance and support Right to Work, and Global Mobility escalations.

    • Provide critical support for employees on Leave of Absence (LOA), ensuring a smooth transition and clear communication.

  • Process Improvement & Auditing:

    • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement within day-to-day operations, developing and implementing more efficient workflows.

    • Conduct regular audits of payroll processing and other key HR functions to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • System & Project Support:

    • Participate in Workday system testing, providing valuable feedback to ensure updates and new features function as intended.

    • Contribute to key HR Enablement projects, providing operational support and insights to ensure successful implementation.

What You Will Bring:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience managing day to day HR administration

  • Subject matter expertise with employee hire to retire process

  • A strong sense of ownership and accountability. You don't just complete tasks; you see them through to a complete and thoughtful solution.

  • Proven problem-solving skills. You are comfortable with ambiguity and skilled at troubleshooting complex employee inquiries and system issues.

  • Previous experience with HR information systems is required. Workday experience is strongly preferred

  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, work independently, multi-task, and follow up on projects and issues

  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interface with all levels of the organization across multiple teams

At Confluent, we are committed to providing competitive pay and benefits that are in line with industry standards. We analyze and carefully consider several factors when determining compensation, including work history, education, professional experience, and location. This position has an annual estimated salary of $40.00 – $46.00 per hour and a competitive equity package.
